USAF Selects L-3 for GIS and Global Positioning Systems Support |

Reston, Va., September 30, 2009 – L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced that its Strategic Technologies and Intelligent Solutions (STRATIS) division was awarded a $7.7 million task to provide geospatial information systems (GIS) and global positioning systems (GPS) services for the U.S. Air Force. Under the award, STRATIS will provide support for communications infrastructure mapping at U.S. Air Force installations, extending the work it began under an earlier contract. First awarded a $68 million Air Force contract to begin this work nine years ago, STRATIS has expanded the contract’s value to over $80 million. Les Rose, President of L-3 STRATIS, said, "This award reinforces STRATIS’s position as one of the Air Force’s primary service providers in the field of geospatial solutions for facilities and infrastructure mapping.
