NASA Simulation and Software Technology (SST)

L-3 STRATIS provides NASA’s Johnson Space Center (JSC) space systems domain expertise to NASA engineers and astronauts. Under the Simulation and Software Technology (SST) contract, L-3 STRATIS develops high fidelity math models and simulations used by NASA to perform analysis and systems design for the next generation human space flight vehicles. Specifically, L-3 STRATIS works in the areas of robotics; dynamics; guidance, navigation, and control; avionics; electrical power systems; and ground systems technologies.

The Software and Simulation Technologies contract has provided the Manned Space engineering community with innovative solutions and technologies since the 1980s.

Significant Accomplishments
  • Full life cycle support for spacecraft simulation systems development at NASA for over 20 years; selected as the simulation technology of choice for the next generation Constellation Program
  • Developer of the Trick Simulation Environment and associated graphics software, Dynamic Onboard Ubiquitous Graphics (DOUG) to include simulations and models used aboard active NASA Mission Spacecraft
  • Core architecture and software simulation system development support to the Constellation Training Facility
  • Broad JSC Engineering Directorate support for specialized and experienced engineering analysis and development support for avionics facilities, mission analysis, and advanced studies
